Kari is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist who earned her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University in 2019. She has experience providing individual, group, and family therapy for clients with eating disorders and co-occurring conditions across hospital, residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient settings.
Kari works with adolescents and adults navigating eating disorders, complex trauma, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, perfectionism, body image concerns, chronic illness, and major life transitions. She is also passionate about serving clients from diverse and marginalized communities, including LGBTQIA+ individuals, neurodivergent clients, and those in consensually non-monogamous, polyamorous, or kink-affirming relationships.
She brings an empathetic, curious, and nonjudgmental presence to the therapeutic space. Kari’s approach is culturally responsive, strengths-based, and grounded in social justice values. She integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, narrative therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to support clients in healing, growth, and self-understanding.
Kari views the therapeutic relationship as a meaningful collaboration and considers it a privilege to support clients as they move toward greater clarity, resilience, and authenticity in their lives.
