Emily Haber, LMSW, earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Georgia, where she also completed an interdisciplinary certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT). Prior to graduate school, she received bachelor's degrees in Psychology and English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and worked in child development research.
Emily is dedicated to fostering a therapeutic environment that is welcoming, supportive, and affirming. She partners closely with clients to help them feel understood, valued, and empowered throughout their therapeutic journey. She is particularly passionate about working with children, adolescents, and families, and believes young people should play an active role in shaping their treatment and goals.
Her clinical experience includes working with children, teens, adults, couples, and families. Emily integrates a variety of evidence-based and creative approaches, including narrative therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), structural family therapy, experiential family therapy, play therapy, and expressive arts interventions. She tailors her work to each client's needs, often incorporating creative and experiential techniques that offer multiple pathways for growth, healing, and self-expression.
Emily values both verbal and nonverbal forms of communication and believes that healing is supported by embracing all aspects of one's identity and experience. She strives to create a space where clients feel safe being their authentic selves while exploring the many dimensions of who they are.
She has experience supporting individuals facing trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, emotional regulation challenges, relationship difficulties, and communication concerns.
Emily practices under the supervision of Dr. Tara Arnold, PhD, LCSW, CEDS-C, RYT-200.
